Through the Lens of Service: Celebrating Charlie Frith

Posted :

Honoring 32 years of dedication, leadership, and service to Stewpot.

Some people make a difference by standing in the spotlight. Others spend their lives making sure the spotlight shines on those around them. For Stewpot, Charlie Frith has been one of those extraordinary people.

As Stewpot celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, we also recognize the retirement of one of our longest-serving volunteers. For 32 years, Charlie has been a dedicated part of our mission, helping preserve and share the stories that make Stewpot so special.

Throughout those years, Charlie has served Stewpot in many ways, including as a member of our Board of Directors. His commitment to the organization has extended from helping guide its mission to documenting the people and moments that have shaped its history.

As the person behind our newsletter and countless photographs documenting our work, Charlie has captured far more than events and activities. Through his camera lens and his words, he has helped tell the story of a community coming together to serve its neighbors with dignity, compassion, and love.

Of course, not every memory comes from behind a camera or around a boardroom table. Sometimes it’s as simple as Charlie and his fellow volunteers sporting turkey hats at Thanksgiving, bringing a little laughter and holiday cheer to the people around them. Those lighthearted moments are just as much a part of the Stewpot story as the meals served and the friendships formed.

Charlie’s contribution has always been about much more than newsletters, photographs, and board meetings. It’s about showing up, year after year, and believing in the importance of the people and the mission he serves.

The beautiful thing about Charlie’s work is that while he was busy documenting everyone else’s contributions, he was quietly making an incredible contribution of his own.

As we reflect on 50 years of Stewpot, we are reminded that an organization is built not simply through the passage of time, but through the dedication of people who continually choose to give of themselves. For 32 of those 50 years, Charlie has been one of those people.

Charlie, thank you for the years you’ve given, the leadership you’ve provided, the memories you’ve preserved, the laughter you’ve shared, and the kindness you’ve shown. Your impact on Stewpot goes far beyond the pages of a newsletter.

You’ve spent 32 years helping us tell our story. We’re grateful that you’ve been such an important part of it.

From all of us at Stewpot, thank you, Charlie. You will be missed, and you will always be part of the Stewpot family.
