Samaritan Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew Catholic Cathedral

Guided by the words of Jesus Christ—“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”—the Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew Catholic Cathedral is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the unsheltered population in Little Rock and North Little Rock. Putting this mission into action, the ministry delivered 60 water kits to the Little Rock Stewpot on Friday, May 29. Designed to provide critical relief from the heat, each kit included:

A reusable sports bottle

Two bottles of water

A neck-cooling scarf

Iinformational flyer detailing where to access free local resources and assistance

Their plan is to provide Stewpot with various kits to distribute in the upcoming summer, fall, and winter months. The following are the various kits provided by the Samaritan Ministry:  

WINTERIZE KITS (backpack, blanket, thick plastic sheet, headgear, makeshift “poncho”, Mylar emergency space blanket, socks &  a flyer telling where to get free help /a word about Jesus) 

WATER KITS (sports bottle, 2 bottles of water, neck-cooling scarf, a flyer telling where to get free help /a word about Jesus, all in a small light-weight string-backpack) 

FOOD KITS (provided to give one day of food security – jar of peanut butter, crackers, pouch of pulled pork, “spork”, “energy bar”, a flyer telling where to get free help /a word about Jesus, all placed in a reusable dual purpose 32 OZ. deli container w/lid) 

BREAKFAST KITS (provided to the 18th St. City of LR warming center…. Energy bar, pastry bar, small water bottle, juice pouch, flyer telling where to get free help, all placed in a reusable dual purpose 32 OZ. deli container w/lid) 

MISC KITS (band-aids, comb, matches, wipes, military style can-opener, tiny flashlight, toothbrush w/paste, face cloth, socks and other non-standard items, safety pins, all placed in a reusable dual purpose 32 OZ. deli container w/lid, flyer telling where to get free help about Jesus
